TV Wall Mounting

ae1.jpg

It's not as easy as you might think

A good Craftsman will tell you that you must always "Measure twice - and then cut once." When mounting a TV, it's "Measure once, measure again, measure again and then when you are absolutely certain, measure again." It's a one shot shootout and there are many variables.

  • What are we mounting on and to?

  • Is it brick, cinder, plasterboard, dob n dab, or stud?

  • What type of drill am I using?

  • Are there any pipes or power cables back there?

  • What type of mounting bracket is it?

  • How much does the telly weigh?

  • Are the floor and ceiling level ... or just one of them?

  • Which mounting anchor should I use? ... that one is rather important.

If you think the answer is "them expanding plasterboard plugs" you're already in trouble ... step away from the drill !!
