AERIAL INDUSTRY FACTS
Most aerials today will pick up most of the Freeview Digital range of channels without too much of a problem .... unless you want to watch HD.

If your picture is occassionally breaking up or missing channels, then you've definately got a fault. It could be a shoddy aerial, the wrong aerial, and antiquated or obsolete aerial, poor cables, poor connections .... Face it - it's dodgy - you won't sort it DIY.

SATELLITE: Sky dishes are not entirely suitable for full quality FREESAT HD reception

BOOSTERS will not solve a problem... don't waste your money - Buying Indoor Set Tops Aerials is a complete waste of money - D.I.Y starts with a D - so does the word DON'T ... so DON'T

SHARKS!
If you are replacing your aerial a visiting installer might point to a neighbour’s house and show you a large aerial with a lot of sticky on bits, and say, “That’s what you need. That’s a digital aerial!” He might even (conveniently) have one in his van - (here it comes) - you are about to get STUFFED !!!

ADVERTISERS:Most of the Yellow Pages/Phone Book Adverts for Aerials will show 'local' phone numbers and claim to be 'local' - NO they're NOT.... they just buy local phone numbers. You WILL be Overcharged. Any Guarantee WILL be worthless. Most are call centres who sell the enquiry on to the nearest 'member' installer - No Quality Control or Background checks are made.

NO SUCH THING AS A DIGITAL AERIAL  Big doesn't mean better - you DO NOT need a big Aerial to receive excellent picture quality. Most Installers will try to sell you a BIG and EXPENSIVE (looking) aerial that you don’t need and won't need. There are countless examples of people being sold massive aerials for digital (costing perhaps £350) when something far smaller and far neater is all that’s needed

ONE AERIAL  is ALL you need to feed any number of TV's

QUOTES AND PRICES: Most people buy on price alone - FACT. However, ringing round for quotes and basing your decisions on price alone is a great way to waste money and you could be asking for trouble. Not ALL aerials are the same. Not ALL Installers work to the same standards. Not ALL of them give a damn once they've got your money.

As a rule cheap usually means CHEAP and expensive ALWAYS means Paid Too Much.
